Uwharrie Books has a mission to promote local authors. Below are some ways that we work with authors. We are happy to tailor these to your needs or work with you to create an event that will be perfect for you.

Author Saturday and Book Signings

Once a month Uwharrie Books holds Author Saturday. This means we extend an open invitation to any author to come in to meet fans, sign books, and network. Please contact us at least 10 days in advance if we will need to order your books or if you would like to be added to our calendar.

Book reviews

Uwharrie Books reviews books of all genres for two local newspapers. We also publish our reviews on our website, our facebook page, and our email newsletter. 

If you would like us to review your book, please send a copy of your book to our store at 212 - 2 Main St E, Locust, NC 28097. Please include a letter with your contact information and anything else you want us to know about your book.

We do not accept loose manuscripts, electronic copies, or ARCs.

Please note: we will review as many books as time permits, but we can not guarantee that we will be able to review every book we receive.

Tips:
* We love signed copies. To increase your chances of getting reviewed, send an autographed copy!

* Include an SASE, and we will send you a copy of the review from the newspapers once it is published.

Self Published and POD

Uwharrie Books is interested in helping all authors sell their books. We work with self published and Print on Demand authors to sell their books in our store.
